2004-2007: Traces in the Sand

In the beginning "Treibsand" was a thought, a phantasy born long before its actual coming into being. After the "foundation" of the band 2004 in Freising, Yann spent a lot of time filling it with life: "Blade Edge" and the very first version of "eXile" were products of this time that started to catch people's attention. Back then Treibsand was received in the Munich underground scene and in various places across the internet.

2007-2008: A night in fiction factory

A major turning point was reached in 2007. After Treibsand had been exclusively virtual for almost three years, it became visual. tHeRaPiEgRuPpE (vocals) and Rectifier (keys) joined Yann to form a proper band with real live ambitions. They were achieved - but under totally different circumstances - in late 2008 when Yann and a Saul (drums) as a new member played the very first Treibsand gig in Freising.

2009-today: have you seen the bitter end?

Turning points seldomly come single is the lesson that Yann and Treibsand had to learn in this period. Moving from Freising to Münster tore the just banded group apart - and again it was coincidence that directed future developements: Treibsand was asked to serve as support to a major act. Within two weeks, Daniel (drums) and Lord Nelson (keys) were found and showed the ropes.

Munster turned out to be a new beginning to Treibsand. In the meantime, Treibsand has grown to a full size of five members, after Reinhardt and Simon offered their services as guitarists. Now is the time for growth.
